Supporting Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly Program

Control Union has collaborated with Amazon to help those selling products on Amazon’s online store qualify for the Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) program. CPF enables Amazon customers to easily find more-sustainable products, by searching for those which carry the CPF badge. Program inclusion drives an average 10% increase in product page views. In order to qualify for the CPF badge, products must hold at least one of a number of trusted certifications.

Control Union and Amazon are providing video training about a range of textiles standards that will enable companies to qualify for CPF.

Video training is available now via Control Union’s online learning platform, which can be accessed through the ‘register here – training’ link on this page. The videos have been created by subject matter experts in Control Union, to help guide companies through the various elements of the certification process, covering topics including:

  • Product Registration
  • Logo usage and making claims
  • Scope Certificates and Transaction Certificates
  • The details of the specific textiles standards which qualify for CPF

For those who are ready to go straight to seeking certification to any of the standards listed below, they can do so now by selecting the ‘register here – certification’ link on this page to start the process.

  • Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
  • Organic Content Standard (OCS 100 & OCS Blended)
  • Global Recycle Standard (GRS)
  • Recycled Claim Standard (RCS 100 & RCS Blended)
  • Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)

Amazon sellers who are already certified and were audited by Control Union for any of these certifications can now upload product information directly to the new Trade Q platform, by selecting the ‘register here – already certified’ link on this page. This will enable them to enroll products in CPF and gain the CPF badge automatically. The Trade Q platform also offers sellers greater visibility into which products are approved or rejected for CPF. Sellers will receive a reminder to schedule a re-audit prior to their certification’s expiry date, ensuring that a product’s CFP status remains up to date.

Franco Costantini, Control Union’s UK MD, shares that “we are delighted to be carrying out this work to support sellers in qualifying for Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly program. Our work will ultimately help customers discover more-sustainable products that meet the trusted certifications of the program."
