The oyster fishery is carried out by members of the Fisheries Cooperative of Okucho, Setouchi-shi, in Okayama Prefecture, which is one of Maruto Suisan’s partners. The Okucho members produce around 1,500 tons Pacific oysters per year, using floating rafts for grow out. This is the first rope-grown oyster fishery be certified under the MSC scheme.
